Sometimes due to some unfavorable circumstances when you try to open any program you just get the following error message:

“Svchost.exe – application error
The instruction at “0x062a8fc7″ reference memory at “0x062a8fc7″. The memory could not be ‘read.
Click on OK to terminate the program”.

Sometimes this error message can come together with some other signs of this error, for example impossibility of getting the access to add\remove programs, automatic updates, Internet connection and some other issues. Sometimes the computer can awfully hang.

The reasons of such a behavior of your computer can be different; the most possible reason is the viral activity. But also this problem can appear on the attempt of Windows Update to check the presence of new update that is used by the Windows Installer that time a memory leak can happen.

Svchost.exe is a Host Process that is very important for Windows Startup. The system file (not a viral) located in %System Root%\System 32 folder. So if you will find this file somewhere else you should delete because this must be an infection. On the computer boot-up svchost.exe checks the series of the registry in order to detect the services that should be run. Several svchost.exe processes can be run simultaneously because every svchost.exe contains a separate group of services.

Svchost.exe application error should be solved until your nerves are all right. There are some methods how to eliminate this problem. You can try everything and find the method that will help you.

1. You should switch off Automatic Updates. Then reset your computer and manually open Windows Updates and install the updates. Then you should turn the Automatic Updates and reset your computer.

2. Carry out the following actions if the first step is useless in your case:

– Press Win+R buttons, type the command services.msc in the line and click OK.
– Open the “Automatic Updates“.
– Open on the Log On tab, be convinced that the option “Local System account” is chosen and there is no tick in the option “Allow service to interact with desktop” check box.
– This service should be deactivated. If not, hit the Enable button.
– Open the “General” tab; be convinced that the “Startup Type” is “Automatic“. Then press the button “Start” under “Service Status” to start the service.
– Then you should repeat the previous actions with the Background Intelligent
Transfer Service (BITS) service
.
3. If the previous instructions did not solve your problem then use the next one:
– Left-click Start and Run,
– Type REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL in the opened field and hit Enter.
– Click OK, receiving the “DllRegisterServer in WUAPI.DLL succeeded” message.
– Please repeat all these instructions for each of the enumerated commands:

  • REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL
  • REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL
  • REGSVR32 ATL.DLL
  • REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL
  • REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL
  • REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL
  • REGSVR32 WUWEB.DLL

After all these steps you should do the following:
– Press Win+R buttons on your keyboard, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following command in the opened window: net stop WuAuServ.

(Remember that you should reboot your computer before the net stop command will work)

– Press Win+R buttons, type: %windir% and press Enter.
– Then you should change the name of SoftwareDistribution folder to SDOld.
– Press Win+R buttons, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following command in the opened window: net start WuAuServ.

And of course remember that this Svchost.exe application error can emerge because of the viruses, so download any antivirus, update it and scan your computer for malware. May be even it is better to do it before all these numerous steps. And remember that the best solution of the problem is the stable protection of your computer from viruses that can cause some very annoying problems.
